                        Santiago B. Villafania born in Tuliao, Sta Barbara, Pangasinan on 31 january 1971. He is a Filipino poet who writes in English and in his native language of pangasinan. He graduated with a degree Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Pangasinan in 1991 and he is a member of the Philippine PEN and currently a commissioner for pangasinan Historical and Cultural Commision. Some of his poems have appeared in local and international and some of his poems is pangasinan language Balikas na Cabulan is among the works published by the National Commision for the culture and arts. Santiago B. Villafania was awarded the writer of the year (2004) by the ulupan na Pansiansia’y salitan pangasinan and in 2005 he awarded of Merit by the association of writers and autors for Regional Development (Region 1) for his first book Pinabli tan arum niiran Anlong. The Beloved and other poems are published in 2003. The Malagilion, Sanitan Pangasinan, is the second book of poetry by Santiago B. Villafania and this is attempts to open the propelea of literary renaissance in pangasinan.  Some of the poems of Santiago is Supermoon effect and other Bruises and Epistle to Ebard, Swansong of the sea, Sonnet to a pilgrim Soul. Villafania has created 300 sonnets and 50 Villanelles in his own language that attempts the privacy of native culture. The Aacbanua is an artistic,  literacy, and intellectuall movement in pangasinan toward the beginning of the 21st century, founded by poet, Santiago Villafania , filmmaker Christopher Gozum , historian erwing Fernandez , and poet Melchor Orpilla. Villafania’s works vernacular are some of the most representative , if not among the few that comprice. His second book , Milagilion was the finalist in the 2007 National Book Award for best book of poetry and won the Gawad Komisyon. Santiago is one of the 11 Outstanding Pangasinensis and the recipient of the 1st Asna Award for Arts and Culture in 2010. He has been published in other countries and some of his works has been translated into several languages including Spanish, Italian , Arabic and Hindi. He is also a 430th foundation day of the province on April 2010. Some of his poet and poems have a deep feelings but theres some words that we can’t understand that’s why he translated his works to a tagalong and English language cause if he didn’t translated it his works he will not be recognized because only pangasenan can understand his works  and he will not become famous  writer. Some works of Santiago is Bonsaic Verses, The storyteller. And his five poetry collections is Ghazalias, Marlus Ayat, Bonsaic Verses, Pinabli and other poems. He became famous because of his beautiful works and many people can relate his works. All writes must give feeling and emotions to what they write so the readers can have a interest to your poems or books. And now many regions have many famous writers that show their talent to the Philippines not just Philippines but all over the world like Santiago B. Villafania, he had done many works that translated to a different languages so the other country understand and can relate.
